KotOR Calculator

When playing Knights of the Old Republic I always wondered which route I should take. Should I go dueling and stick with one weapon to have the best possible attack value? Should I take two weapon fighting and wield a double bladed lightsaber or a normal lightsaber / short lightsaber combination? Which crystals would deliver the best overall amount of damage? Is flurry really better than power attack?

There is no easy answer to these questions. It all depends on the situation and your enemy. KotORCalc lets you enter the relevant stats of both your character and your enemy and then calculates the average damage per round you can deliver to him. Another very powerful option is the optimize feature of KotORCalc, because it tries every possible lightsaber / crystal combination with every attack style (normal, flurry, power attack, critical) and shows you the best result against your enemy.

This should settle all debates about which feat/weapon/crystal combination is the best. Just calculate it and use it to your advantage!

What you need:

To start the program, you need to have:
  1. The KotOR Calculator Archive.
  2. The Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86).
  3. The Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package (x86).

If you run Windows Vista, then you already have the .net framework on your machine. Even if you run Windows XP, more likely than not you have installed the .net framework sometime in the past - possibly without even noticing it.

Step by step installation:

  1. Download and extract the KotOR Calculator Archive.
  2. Download and install the Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable.
  3. Try to run KotORCalc.exe. If you get an error message, then you have to download and install the .NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable, too.
